Warehouse automation firm Unbox Robotics has raised $28 million (around ₹243 Crore) in a Series B funding round, as per Inc42 report.

The round was led by ICICI Venture and Redstart Labs, with participation from F-Prime Capital, 3one4 Capital, Navam Capital, Force Ventures and existing investors. The fundraise included both primary and secondary capital.

Secondary Sale and Employee Liquidity

About 10% of the total round came through secondary transactions. As part of this, one unnamed fund and an angel investor exited their holdings.

The secondary component also enabled liquidity of around ₹8 Crore for employees under the company’s ESOP programme. The remaining funds were raised as primary capital.

Unbox Robotics Overview

Founded in 2019 by Pramod Ghadge and Shahid Memon, Unbox Robotics is based in Pune and develops modular robotic systems used in warehouse and intralogistics operations. Its products are designed to automate parcel handling and sorting across fulfilment centres, distribution hubs and delivery facilities.

The company’s systems also support related processes such as binning, charging, measurement and safety.

Markets and Customers

More than 96% of Unbox Robotics’ revenue currently comes from Europe. The company operates in Spain, Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy and Turkey, and is in discussions to enter markets such as Germany, France and Poland. It is also in talks with a fashion and apparel retailer in the US.

In India, Unbox Robotics works with clients including Flipkart, Myntra and DHL, and is in discussions with other logistics and quick commerce firms.

Operations and Sourcing

The company runs an in-house design and assembly facility. Around 90% of its components are sourced from Indian manufacturers, according to the company. Unbox Robotics generates revenue through product sales and services, with a robotics-as-a-service model still at an early stage.

Scale and Financials

Unbox Robotics has deployed about 500 robots so far and plans to scale this to around 3,000 units over the next two years. The company reported revenue of ₹13.6 Crore in FY25 and expects revenue of ₹70-75 Crore in FY26. It achieved profitability in June last year.
