Bengaluru-based AGNIT Semiconductors has successfully raised $2.6 million in a seed extension round led by Shastra VC, with contributions from existing investors 3one4 Capital and Zephyr Peacock.
This funding round follows a previous $3.5 million seed round in 2024, bringing the total funding to over $7 million.
The recent funding of $2.6 million will be strategically utilised to scale up the production of gallium nitride (GaN) components to 1,00,000 units over the next 2 years.
AGNIT Semiconductors plans to expand its reach into telecom infrastructure and high-efficiency power semiconductor devices, leveraging the growing demand for GaN technology.
Founded in 2019 by a team of industry experts including Hareesh Chandrasekar, Digbijoy Neelim Nath, Madhusudan Atre, Mayank Shrivastava, Muralidharan Rangarajan, Shankar Kumar Selvaraja, and Srinivasan Raghavan, AGNIT Semiconductors focuses on the development of GaN semiconductor technology.
The company specialises in designing and manufacturing GaN materials and electronic components, primarily for radio-frequency (RF) applications.
AGNIT Semiconductors has strategically pivoted to concentrate on sectors where the demand for GaN technology is robust. Initially exploring components for electric vehicles, the company has now paused these efforts to focus on strategic sectors.
GaN technology is known for its efficiency and performance in high-frequency and high-power applications, making it a valuable asset in telecom and power semiconductor industries.
