WeWork India Management Limited has entered into a lease agreement for a new workspace facility in Chennai measuring about 1,41,392 sq ft. The development was disclosed to stock exchanges through a regulatory filing dated March 9, 2026.

The additional facility is expected to increase the company’s seating capacity by around 2,605 desks once the centre becomes operational.

Project Cost and Funding

The company has estimated the investment for the new facility at approximately ₹35 crore. The funding will be arranged through a mix of internal accruals and debt, according to the details shared in the filing.

The centre is expected to be completed and ready for operations on or before July 2026, subject to completion of fit-outs and related work.

Existing Capacity and Occupancy

As of December 31, 2025, WeWork India’s operational network had a total capacity of 1,21,638 desks across its locations. Capacity utilisation stood at 83.90% during the same period.

The addition of the Chennai facility will expand the company’s available desk inventory once it becomes operational.

Reason for Expansion

The company stated that the new capacity is being added to meet incremental demand and to increase operational capacity.

The expansion is intended to support the company’s workspace operations as demand for flexible office space continues across major cities.

Flexible workspace providers have been increasing supply in commercial hubs where companies are adopting managed office solutions.

WeWork India Share Price Performance

As of March 10, 2026, 9:17 am, WeWork India Management share price was trading at ₹430.95, a 1.04% increase from the previous closing price.

Conclusion

The Chennai lease is expected to add more than 2,600 desks to WeWork India’s network once the project is completed. The facility is planned to be operational before July 2026, according to the company’s regulatory disclosure.
