Torrent Power share price fell about 6% during trading, touching nearly ₹1,398, as investors reacted negatively to the company’s December quarter performance.
The decline came despite year-on-year growth in revenue and profit, mainly due to weak performance compared with the previous quarter.
For Q3FY26, the company reported a consolidated net profit of ₹655 crore, up 34% YoY from ₹490 crore last year. However, profit dropped around 12% quarter-on-quarter from ₹741 crore in Q2FY26.
Revenue from operations increased 4.3% YoY to ₹6,778 crore, but declined 14% sequentially, which disappointed investors.
During the quarter, Torrent Power signed a 10-year LNG supply agreement with Japan’s JERA, starting in 2027.
The LNG will support the company’s 2,730 MW gas-based power plants, help manage peak demand, and balance renewable energy supply.
The company also declared an interim dividend of ₹15 per share for FY26.
Additionally, the board approved plans to raise up to ₹7,000 crore through non-convertible debentures (NCDs) via private placement.
Torrent Power share price (NSE: TORNTPOWER) recovered about 22% in the past 5 months, but they still trade around 31% below their record high. Earlier, the stock had fallen nearly 40% between October 2024 and September 2025.
Despite volatility, the stock has delivered strong long-term returns, rising about 210% in 2 years and 325% over 5 years, making it a multibagger over the long term.

Torrent Power’s Q3FY26 results showed solid year-on-year growth but weak sequential performance, which led to a fall in the share price. Future movement in the stock may depend on earnings stability, LNG project execution, and overall power demand growth.
