As per Economic Times report, Tata Power has announced a capital expenditure plan of ₹1.25 trillion for the period between FY26 and FY30, with a strong focus on expanding its clean energy segment.

Aiming for a total power generation capacity of 30 GW by FY30, the company also targets ₹1 lakh crore in revenue and ₹10,000 crore in PAT.

Tata Power’s Expansion Plan to 30 GW Capacity

Between FY26 and FY30, Tata Power will invest ₹1.25 trillion, of which 65% will be allocated to clean and green energy projects. The company currently operates 15.7 GW of capacity, comprising 7 GW from renewable sources. By FY30, it seeks to nearly double this with a clean energy contribution of 20 GW out of a total 30 GW target.

The company invested ₹13,214 crore in FY24 and ₹17,273 crore in FY25 and now prepares to invest around ₹25,000 crore annually over the next 5 years to achieve these goals.

The target revenue by FY30 stands at ₹1 lakh crore, backed by an EBITDA of ₹30,000 crore and ₹10,000 crore in profit after tax.

Nuclear Power Segment Entry

The company is also exploring entry into nuclear power generation, aligning with India’s plan to build up to 100 GW of capacity by 2047. This indicates a move towards diversification within the power sector while supporting national energy goals.
