
Solarworld Energy Solutions Limited has announced a significant development in its business operations by securing a Battery Energy Storage Purchase Agreement (BESPA) valued at ₹806.40 crore.
This agreement pertains to the development of a 200 MW/400 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in Gujarat.
On December 8, 2025, Solarworld signed the BESPA with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited. The project is part of the "On-Demand" usage under Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding – Phase VI. The Letter of Intent (LOI) for this project was issued on May 28, 2025.
The contract, awarded by a domestic entity, is set to be executed over a period of 12 years. The project aims to enhance the energy storage capabilities in Gujarat, contributing to the region's energy infrastructure.
The order value is approximately ₹806.40 crore, excluding taxes over the 12-year duration. This commercial order is a significant step for Solarworld, marking its commitment to expanding its footprint in the renewable energy sector.
The aggregate order size of 200 MW/400 MWh underlines the scale and importance of this project. Notably, there is no interest from the promoter group or related parties in the entity awarding the contract, ensuring transparency and compliance with regulatory norms.
