As per moneycontrol report, Shriram Finance saw a 2% jump in its share price on December 15, 2025, following reports that Japan's Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) is in advanced discussions to acquire a 20% stake for $3.2 billion (₹29,200 crore). This move suggests a significant international investment in one of India’s major financial firms. 

MUFG's Planned Investment Spurs Market Response 

Shriram Finance shares climbed nearly 2% during trading hours, peaking at ₹870.60 before settling around ₹863.50 in the afternoon session.  

This movement came after a Bloomberg report mentioned that MUFG is planning to purchase a 20% minority stake in the company for approximately ¥500 billion or $3.2 billion.  

Shriram Finance Shareholding Structure 

As per shareholding data on September 30, 2025, promoters and related groups held 25.39% in Shriram Finance. The largest promoter, Shriram Capital, owned a 17.85% stake, while Shriram Value Services held 7.11%. The rest, or 74.61%, was with public shareholders. MUFG's potential 20% stake purchase would make it a significant minority shareholder.

Shriram Finance Share Price Performance  

As of December 15, 2025, at 3:30 PM, Shriram Finance share price on NSE was closed at ₹855.35 up by 0.87% from the previous closing price.
