
Union Bank announced that Shri Bhaskara Rao Kare, Chief General Manager, has superannuated from the services of the Bank on January 31, 2026.
His tenure was marked by significant contributions to the Bank’s operations, leadership initiatives, and strategic projects.
Following this, Shri Sarvesh Ranjan, currently serving as General Manager, has been elevated to the post of Chief General Manager of the Bank, effective February 1, 2026. This elevation reflects the Bank’s recognition of his extensive experience, leadership abilities, and contributions over the years.
Shri Sarvesh Ranjan is an Engineering graduate and a seasoned banker with nearly three decades of banking experience. He currently holds the position of General Manager – Central Reconciliation, Transaction Monitoring & AML of the Bank.
His career spans diverse roles across branch banking, regional offices, zonal offices, staff training college, and corporate office, giving him comprehensive expertise in banking operations and management.
In addition to his banking experience, Shri Ranjan has pursued leadership development programs from the University of Applied Sciences, Switzerland, and the Indian School of Business (ISB), Hyderabad. He also holds certification in IT and Cyber Security from IDRBT, Hyderabad, equipping him with technical and strategic skills necessary for modern banking challenges.
On February 2, 2026, Union Bank share price (NSE: UNIONBANK) opened at ₹169.37, up from its previous close of ₹169.37. At 11:04 AM, the share price of Union Bank was trading at ₹166.76, down by 1.54% on the NSE.
