HDFC Bank has announced a revision to its complimentary airport lounge access service for debit card users. Effective January 10, 2026, the new rules include a spend threshold and the use of digital vouchers for entry.
The updated system aims to streamline access by ensuring eligibility is met prior to lounge entry.
From January 10, 2026, physical debit card swipes will no longer provide access to airport lounges. Customers must meet a minimum quarterly spend of ₹10,000 to qualify.
After meeting this requirement, a digital voucher or QR code will be shared via SMS or email. This code must be presented at participating lounges for entry.
The previous spending threshold for eligibility was ₹5,000. The ₹10,000 spend can include multiple purchases both online and in-store. However, the condition does not apply to users of the HDFC Bank Infiniti Debit Card, which continues to offer unrestricted lounge access.
Despite the procedural changes, HDFC Bank has retained the existing number of complimentary lounge visits per card type:
Only purchase transactions using the debit card will count towards the ₹10,000 quarterly spend. The following transactions are excluded: ATM withdrawals, UPI or wallet payments, credit card bill payments using a debit card, and debit card EMIs.

Once generated, the digital voucher remains valid until the end of the following calendar quarter. For example, a voucher issued on November 15, 2025, will be valid until March 31, 2026.
Access to lounges continues on a first-come, first-served basis. Lounges may impose their terms, including duration limits and capacity restrictions.
HDFC Bank has introduced key updates to its airport lounge access facility for debit card users, with effect from January 10, 2026. The integration of digital vouchers and an increased minimum spend threshold aims to make eligibility clearer while retaining the same visit limits across debit card types.
