The upward movement followed the company’s Q3 FY26 earnings announcement, which reflected improved profitability and revenue growth.
Rising silver prices in global markets also contributed to positive sentiment around the stock during early trade.
Hindustan Zinc shares were trading at ₹685.80 in late morning trade on 20 January, registering a gain of 3.85%.
The stock opened at ₹668.80 and touched an intraday high and a record high of ₹696.90, while the day’s low stood at ₹655.00.
The previous close was recorded at ₹660.40, indicating continued buying interest for a second straight session.
The company reported a standalone net profit of ₹3,879 crore for the October–December quarter of FY26, reflecting a 46.5% year-on-year increase compared to ₹2,647 crore in the same quarter last year. Revenue from operations rose 27.5% year-on-year to ₹10,922 crore, up from ₹8,556 crore in the corresponding period of the previous financial year. The performance was supported by favourable commodity prices and steady operational output.
Silver prices recorded fresh highs in domestic futures trading, contributing to broader strength in metal-linked stocks.
March expiry silver contracts rose around 3% to ₹3,18,729 per kilogram, while May and July contracts also posted gains, reaching ₹3,28,854 per kilogram and ₹3,35,885 per kilogram, respectively.
