Ather Energy reported an increase in its national market share to 18.7% in March 2026, according to Vahan data. The rise came during a year when the company expanded its physical retail network across the country.
The company linked the improvement in share partly to a better availability of its products through an expanded store network. Greater reach allowed it to access new customer segments across regions.
As per PTI report, During the financial year ended March 2026, Ather increased its Experience Centre (EC) count to over 700 locations. The company added more than 350 outlets over the year, compared with 351 centres at the end of March 2025.
This represents a near doubling of its retail presence within a single year. The additions were spread across multiple geographies rather than concentrated in a few large cities.
A notable portion of the new centres was opened in Middle India and other regions outside the company’s earlier focus areas. Expansion in these markets was described as more aggressive relative to established urban regions.
This shows a shift towards tapping demand in smaller cities and emerging locations, where electric 2-wheeler adoption has been increasing gradually.
Experience Centres serve as the primary interface for customers, offering test rides, product information and after-sales support. The company stated that a larger network has improved accessibility and helped it engage with a wider set of buyers.
The presence of local outlets is also relevant in markets where awareness of electric vehicles is still developing, requiring physical touchpoints.
