From November 1, 2025, SBI Card will roll out a revised fee structure affecting select transaction types. Cardholders are advised to familiarise themselves with the upcoming changes to avoid surprises in their billing cycles and to maintain good financial discipline.
SBI Card will charge 1% on the transaction value for education-related payments made through third-party platforms such as CRED, Cheq, and MobiKwik. This new fee applies to merchants listed under MCC codes 8211, 8220, 8241, 8244, 8249, and 8299. Payments made directly to institutions via their websites or onsite POS terminals will not attract this charge.
Similarly, wallet loads above ₹1,000 will incur a 1% fee. These apply to select merchants under MCCs 6540 and 6541, which are subject to revision by network partners without prior notice to customers.
Cash payments attract a fee of ₹250. Cheque payments will be charged ₹200. Dishonoured payments attract 2% of the payment amount with a minimum charge of ₹500.
Cash advances at both domestic and international ATMs are charged at 2.5% of the amount withdrawn, with a minimum fee of ₹500 applicable in each case. Card replacement charges range between ₹100 and ₹250, with Aurum cards attracting a ₹1,500 fee. Emergency card replacements abroad cost a minimum of $175 for Visa and $148 for Mastercard.

An additional fee of ₹100 will apply if MAD remains unpaid for 2 or more consecutive billing cycles, continuing each cycle until cleared.
With fee changes effective from November 1, 2025, SBI Cardholders should proactively understand how the revised structure affects wallets, education payments, and other services. Awareness and timely payments will help cardholders manage their finances efficiently.
