Pensioners across India are currently rushing to submit their annual Life Certificate before the November 30 deadline. Many pensioners have recently received SMS alerts stating that their Jeevan Pramaan or Digital Life Certificate (DLC) has been rejected.
While this can be worrying, the issue is usually easy to fix. The rejection typically occurs when the details provided during DLC generation do not match the records held by the Pension Disbursing Agency (PDA), such as banks or post offices.
According to the Jeevan Pramaan portal, the primary reason for rejection is a mismatch between the information submitted and the details recorded by the PDA.
These discrepancies cause the system to reject the DLC.
The Jeevan Pramaan portal advises pensioners to contact their Pension Disbursing Agency immediately.
Once corrected, the new Digital Life Certificate will be sent automatically to the PDA.
Jeevan Pramaan is a digital, biometric-enabled service that allows pensioners to complete their annual life certification without visiting their bank or Pension Disbursing Agency (PDA). It is available to pensioners from the Central Government, State Governments and various public-sector or government-linked organisations.
Using Aadhaar-based biometric authentication, pensioners can generate their Digital Life Certificate (DLC) from anywhere, including at home, through Windows or Android devices connected to the internet and an STQC-certified biometric device. The system provides automatic SMS updates after the DLC is generated and once the PDA processes it, ensuring transparency, convenience and minimal need for in-person visits.
The deadline for submitting the annual Life Certificate for pensioners is November 30. This mandatory submission ensures that the pensioner is alive and eligible to continue receiving monthly pension payments.

A Jeevan Pramaan or Digital Life Certificate (DLC) is typically rejected due to data mismatches or incomplete biometric verification. Pensioners should contact their bank or post office to identify and correct the issue.
They must then regenerate the DLC with accurate information and complete biometric authentication. With the November 30 deadline approaching, timely resubmission is essential to avoid disruption in pension payments.
