Galaxy Health Insurance has introduced Galaxy Twin 360, a new health insurance product that integrates outpatient and inpatient coverage within a single policy structure.

The launch comes amid industry efforts to address low renewal rates among younger policyholders who often see limited value from hospitalisation-only plans.

Key Development

The Twin 360 plan allows policyholders to utilise outpatient benefits up to the value of the annual premium paid, regardless of whether a hospitalisation claim is made.

The insurer said this approach is designed to provide tangible yearly benefits and reduce policy drop-offs among customers aged 18-45, a segment that typically experiences fewer hospital admissions.

Product Structure and Coverage

Galaxy Twin 360 is available in three variants, Core, Max and Ultra, and can be purchased as an individual or family floater policy. The plan covers adults between 18 and 45 years, with children eligible from 91 days. It offers guaranteed renewability beyond the age of 45.

OPD benefits include teleconsultations, in-clinic doctor visits, prescribed diagnostics and medicines, dental and vision care, vaccinations, physiotherapy, mental health services and annual health check-ups. Wellness and preventive services are provided through partner networks and digital platforms.

On the hospitalisation side, the policy offers sum insured options ranging from ₹7.5 lakh to ₹35 lakh. Coverage includes any room category, consumables, automatic restoration of sum insured, cumulative bonus, AYUSH treatments, select modern procedures, bariatric surgery, organ transplantation and maternity-related benefits, subject to terms and waiting periods.

The policy has a 30-day initial waiting period, while pre-existing diseases and specified conditions carry a waiting period of up to 24 months.

Conclusion

By linking OPD benefits directly to premiums paid, Galaxy Twin 360 seeks to address a long-standing gap in health insurance usage among younger consumers and encourage sustained policy participation.
