The Nifty Smallcap 100 Index was launched on March 30, 2011 and comprises 100 small-cap stocks listed on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and is designed to reflect the performance of the small-cap segment of the Indian equity market.
The index is updated in real-time and is used for benchmarking portfolios, and launching ETFs, index funds, and structured products. A variant of this index also exists, known as the Nifty Smallcap 100 Total Returns Index.
