WhiteOak Capital Mutual Fund will open the New Fund Offer (NFO) for the WhiteOak Capital Consumer Opportunities Fund, an open-ended equity scheme under the thematic category.
The scheme is focused on companies connected to domestic consumption and related services. Units will be available at ₹10 during the NFO, after which the fund will reopen for regular subscriptions and redemptions.
The scheme’s stated objective is to generate long-term capital appreciation. It plans to achieve this by investing largely in equity and equity-related instruments of companies engaged in consumption-driven businesses or those expected to benefit from domestic demand. As with all equity schemes, returns are linked to market movements.
Under normal circumstances, 80–100% of the portfolio will be invested in consumption and consumption-related companies.
The remaining portion, up to 20%, may be allocated to other equities, debt securities, money market instruments, REITs or InvITs. Asset allocation may change based on market conditions and regulatory requirements.
The indicative sector universe covers automobiles and auto components, consumer staples and durables, textiles and apparel, retail and trading, e-commerce, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, telecom, media and entertainment, hospitality, education services, and financial institutions linked to consumer spending. The list is indicative and may be revised over time.
The fund will be benchmarked against the Nifty India Consumption Total Return Index (TRI), which tracks 30 consumption-focused companies listed on the NSE.
The equity portfolio will be managed by Ramesh Mantri, supported by Trupti Agarwal and Dheeresh Pathak. Debt investments, if any, will be handled by Piyush Baranwal. The scheme does not yet have a performance record.
The scheme will offer Direct and Regular plans, both with a Growth option. There is no entry load. An exit load of 1% will apply on redemptions made within 1 month from allotment, while redemptions after one month will not attract any exit load. Expense ratios will be disclosed after the first NAV and will be within SEBI limits.
The minimum investment during the NFO is ₹500, with additional investments allowed from ₹100. SIPs will be available from ₹100 for weekly, fortnightly and monthly options. The scheme is expected to reopen within 5 business days from allotment, and redemption proceeds are to be credited within three working days.
