Jio BlackRock Mutual Fund has filed the Scheme Information Document (SID) for its Prism Hybrid Long–Short Fund.
The scheme falls under the Specialised Investment Fund (SIF) category. It brings together equity, fixed income, and derivative strategies within a single portfolio structure.
The SID outlines a flexible allocation range. Equity and equity-linked instruments are expected to account for 35-75% of the portfolio.
Debt and money market instruments may form 25-65%. The scheme also allows derivative exposure, including limited short positions, alongside these allocations.
The strategy includes a mix of arbitrage and hedging techniques. Methods such as merger arbitrage, collar structures, and market-neutral positioning are mentioned in the filing.
These approaches are intended to manage volatility while maintaining exposure across different market phases.
The scheme is designed as an interval fund. Subscriptions will be open on a daily basis. Redemptions will be offered twice a week.
Units are expected to be listed on the National Stock Exchange of India, allowing trading outside the periodic redemption windows.
The filing notes the use of data-driven inputs and portfolio optimisation tools. These systems are aligned with the broader investment processes of BlackRock.
The approach includes analytics-based signals to guide portfolio construction and risk management.
The minimum investment threshold is ₹10 lakh. The scheme is categorised as moderate risk and benchmarked against a hybrid equity-debt index.
The fund house has indicated that its SIF products will be available through both direct and regular plans, moving beyond a digital-only distribution model.
