Tata AIA Life Insurance has launched the Momentum 50 Index Fund, a new fund offer (NFO) combining investment with life insurance cover. The NFO opened on August 18, 2025, and will remain open until August 25, 2025, with units available at ₹10 each.
The scheme will track the BSE 500 Momentum 50 Customised Index, which represents 50 high-momentum companies from the larger BSE 500 universe. The allocation will range between 80-100% in equity and equity-related securities and up to 20% in cash or money market instruments.
The fund will be available through Tata AIA’s existing solutions, including Smart Fortune Plus, Sampoorna Raksha Flex, Smart SIP, Capital Guarantee Solution, and ISIP. Along with market participation, the product also offers life insurance coverage to investors.
Momentum investing is based on the assumption that stocks showing recent strength are likely to continue performing well in the short term. The approach differs from traditional fundamental-driven funds by relying more on price performance and technical indicators to identify opportunities.
As per news reports, Harshad Patil, Chief Investment Officer, Tata AIA Life Insurance, stated, “India’s equity markets are entering an exciting phase, fuelled by strong economic fundamentals and transformative policy initiatives. The Tata AIA Momentum 50 Index Fund offers a disciplined, rules-based approach to identify and invest in momentum-driven companies that are well-positioned to benefit from this growth.”
