Quant Mutual Fund, led by Sandeep Tandon, has reaffirmed its preference for large-cap stocks while maintaining liquidity across its equity and hybrid schemes.
The fund house disclosed that it has selectively increased exposure to mid- and small-cap stocks, while its tilt toward large-caps remains intact. Key sectors witnessing higher allocations include infrastructure, hotels & hospitality, pharmaceuticals, consumption, and telecom.
The auto sector and select FMCG stocks have also seen fresh inflows, as the fund house continues to identify them as areas with promising growth potential.
One of the standout moves in Quant’s portfolio strategy has been its sharp rise in silver allocation. The fund increased silver exposure in its Multi-Asset Fund from 10% to nearly 30%. This decision was driven by silver’s recent outperformance compared to gold, signaling confidence in the metal’s ability to deliver superior returns in the current macro environment.
Quant Mutual Fund recently achieved a milestone by securing SEBI’s final approval to launch India’s first Specialized Investment Fund (SIF). The first offering under this framework will be the QSIF Equity Long-Short Fund, scheduled to launch in September. The fund aims to give investors exposure to both upward and downward market movements, while limiting risks through hedging strategies.
Beyond this, Quant plans to launch six additional funds under the SIF framework, including the QSIF Equity Ex-Top 100 Long-Short Fund, QSIF Sector Rotation Long-Short Fund, QSIF Hybrid Long-Short Fund, QSIF Active Asset Allocator Long-Short Fund, QSIF Debt Long-Short Fund, and QSIF Sectoral Debt Long-Short Fund.
In a move to strengthen governance, Quant Mutual Fund announced the appointment of Rajnish Kumar, former Chairman of State Bank of India, as Chairman of the Board of Trustees. Additionally, Nishith Mehta has joined as Chairman and Independent Director of the AMC Board. The leadership team is expected to steer the AMC toward responsible innovation and robust regulatory compliance.
