Axis Mutual Fund has opened a new multi-asset scheme under the Fund-of-Funds category. The Axis Multi-Asset Active FoF can be subscribed to from November 21 to December 5, 2025. The scheme will invest in existing mutual funds and ETFs that represent three key segments: equity, debt and commodities.
The fund follows a preset mix of 45% equity, 45% debt, 5% gold and 5% silver. The benchmark shows the same split, combining the NIFTY 500 TRI, the NIFTY Composite Debt Index, and domestic prices of physical gold and silver. The allocation aims to keep all four components within the portfolio rather than depending on a single market trend.
The scheme will be managed by four professionals: Shreyash Devalkar, Devang Shah, Aditya Pagaria and Mayank Hyanki. Allocation changes will be guided by a quantitative model and reviewed by an internal committee.
The framework considers data such as market valuations, liquidity trends, macro indicators and commodity prices. It also includes factors that cannot always be measured clearly, such as geopolitical shifts or global monetary expectations.
Investors can start with a minimum of ₹100, with further purchases in units of ₹1. If units are redeemed within 12 months, up to 10% of the investment attracts no charge. The remaining portion is subject to a 1% exit load. After a full year, units may be withdrawn without any exit fee.
A Fund-of-Funds structure allows the scheme to allocate money into a range of existing funds rather than managing securities directly. This approach spreads investments across different asset management styles and avoids frequent tax implications when the allocation is rebalanced within the scheme. It also provides access to multiple market segments, including precious metals, without separate investments from the investor.
