Abakkus Mutual Fund has introduced two new schemes, both opening for subscription on December 8. The Flexi Cap Fund will remain open until December 22, 2025, while the Liquid Fund will close earlier, on December 10.
These additions are the fund house’s entry into the equity category and a fresh option in the short-term money market segment.
The Flexi Cap Fund is Abakkus MF’s first equity scheme. It is an open-ended fund that invests across large-, mid- and small-cap companies. A minimum of 65% of the portfolio will be in equities and equity-related instruments.
The rest may be split across debt and money market instruments (up to 35%) and REITs or InvITs (up to 10%). The scheme’s benchmark is the BSE 500 Total Return Index.
For portfolio construction, the fund house will use its internal MEETS framework. This method assesses companies on management record, earnings quality, business trends, valuation approach and structural factors such as market size and competition.
The investment process moves through several layers, from scanning potential ideas to final portfolio selection. The scheme will be managed by Sanjay Doshi, Head of Investments and Research at Abakkus AMC. The minimum application amount is ₹500.
The Abakkus Liquid Fund will be open from 8 to 10 December 2025. It is aimed at investors looking for a short holding period with access to funds when needed. The scheme will follow the usual structure of liquid fund portfolios. The minimum application amount for this scheme is ₹1,000.
