Edelweiss Mutual Fund’s Altiva Hybrid Long-Short Specialised Investment Fund (SIF) has successfully completed its first subscription, mobilising around ₹320 crore. The fund attracted interest from both individual and corporate investors, reflecting growing confidence in alternative investment products.
The Altiva Hybrid Long-Short SIF follows a multi-asset strategy, combining fixed income, equity arbitrage, and long/short equity allocations. It also selectively invests in special situations like IPOs, buybacks, mergers, and low-risk derivative strategies. This diversified approach aims to deliver consistent, income-oriented returns with lower volatility over the medium term.
Investors can subscribe daily, with redemptions allowed twice a week, on Mondays and Wednesdays. The minimum investment is set at ₹10 lakh. Under the SIF framework, long-term capital gains (beyond 24 months) are taxed at 12.5%, making it more tax-efficient than traditional Category III AIFs.
While the fund seeks stability, investments in SIFs involve higher risks, including potential capital loss, market volatility, and liquidity constraints. Investors are advised to thoroughly review all relevant documents and assess their risk appetite before investing.
