
The West Bengal government has announced a major update for women under the Lakshmir Bhandar scheme. The monthly allowance has been increased by ₹500, bringing relief to lakhs of beneficiaries across the state.
The revised amount will be effective from February, which means eligible women will start receiving the increased payment from the next monthly credit cycle.
Lakshmir Bhandar is one of the most widely used welfare schemes in West Bengal. It provides monthly financial support to women aged 25 to 60 years, provided they meet the eligibility conditions and submit the required documents.

To receive the Lakshmir Bhandar allowance, the applicant must be between 25 and 60 years.
If the applicant is above 60, she will not qualify under this scheme and should instead apply for the old-age pension scheme.
