
Vodafone Idea Limited (VIL) has taken a significant step toward sustainability by investing in the renewable energy sector. The company has initiated its acquisition of a 26% equity stake in Aditya Birla Renewables SPV 3 Limited (ABRen SPV 3), a subsidiary of Grasim Industries Limited, to support captive power generation and cost-effective renewable energy procurement.
Out of the total proposed investment of ₹1.56 crore, Vodafone Idea has invested ₹26,000 as the first tranche. This investment covers 2,600 equity shares of ₹10/- each, representing a 26% stake in ABRen SPV 3. The remaining tranches are expected to be executed over the next four to six months.
The transaction is structured as a cash investment and has been approved by the Audit Committee and Board, conducted at arm’s length under SEBI regulations.
