Unity Small Finance Bank (Unity Bank) and BharatPe, in collaboration with the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), have unveiled the Unity Bank BharatPe Credit Card on the RuPay network, as per news reports.
Positioned as India’s first EMI-focused credit card, it provides customers with the option to clear dues in full or convert them into equated monthly instalments (EMIs). The card is also enabled for UPI payments, extending its acceptance across a vast merchant network in the country.
The credit card offers multiple advantages, including the ability to split transactions into EMIs of up to 12 months. Rewards earned on EMI-linked spends can be redeemed via the BharatPe app. Notably, the product comes with no joining or annual fee, and no foreclosure charges.
Cardholders will also enjoy benefits such as complimentary lounge access, both domestic and international, and preventive health check-ups. Customers are allowed to prepay EMIs without penalties, ensuring greater transparency and flexibility.
The card is designed for both salaried and self-employed individuals, with a seamless digital application process available through the BharatPe app. Users can complete onboarding, KYC, and credit checks online before activation.
Unity Bank officials said the collaboration between Unity Bank and BharatPe aims to give customers more convenient and clear payment choices by enabling them to use their RuPay credit cards for a wider range of transactions via UPI, both in-person and online.
