Swiggy’s Bengaluru User Tips ₹68,600; Hyderabad Buyer Spends ₹4.3 Lakh on iPhones in 2025

Swiggy’s Instamart released its 2025 insights, revealing spending trends by users across Indian cities. Highlights included high tips, luxury gadgets, and unusual cart items. 

Massive Tips and Premium Tech Buys Make Headlines 

According to Swiggy’s year-end report on December 22, 2025, Bengaluru emerged as a standout city in tipping behaviour. A single user tipped delivery partners ₹68,600 throughout the year, while another placed the smallest order worth ₹10 for a printout.  

Tipping activity in Chennai followed closely with ₹59,500 shown in gratitude. In Hyderabad, a buyer made headlines by purchasing multiple units of iPhone 17 through Instamart, adding up to ₹4.3 lakh in a single cart value. 

Top Shopping Carts: From Noodles to Gold and Gadgets 

The highest spender overall on Instamart in 2025 created a cart worth ₹22 lakh. It contained 22 iPhone 17 units, 24K gold coins, household essentials like milk and eggs, and appliances such as an air fryer.  

Noida also saw a large transaction of ₹2.69 lakh for tech items including robotic vacuum cleaners and Bluetooth speakers. During Diwali, a Bengaluru user bought a 1 kg silver brick worth ₹1.97 lakh, blending tradition with convenience. 

Food and Lifestyle Choices in Numbers 

A Bengaluru account spent ₹4.36 lakh specifically on noodles, while in Mumbai, one user purchased Red Bull Sugar Free amounting to ₹16.3 lakh over the year.  

Hyderabad recorded ₹31,000 worth of roses from one account and Chennai’s pet-loving user spent ₹2.41 lakh on pet supplies.  

Another Chennai user placed 228 condom orders, totalling over ₹1 lakh. Noida's health-driven consumer added 1,343 protein items costing ₹2.8 lakh across the year.

Digital Gold and Changing Consumer Preferences 

Gold purchases saw a surge via platforms like Instamart, with Mumbai leading at ₹15.16 lakh spent in 2025. These transactions reflect how instant commerce has evolved beyond daily essentials, now encompassing high-value commodities and technology.
