Skoda Auto India has outlined a plan to grow sales by 10-12% in 2026, following a sharp increase in volumes last year, as per PTI report. The company sold close to 72,000 units in 2025, nearly doubling its sales compared to the previous year.

The higher base is expected to moderate future growth rates. The company indicated that sustaining such high expansion levels annually is not feasible, and current targets show a more measured approach.

Product Actions Planned Across Portfolio

The company has lined up a series of product updates during the year, described as “10 product actions”. These include new variants, pricing revisions, and model updates across its range.

Recent changes include additions to the Kylaq line-up with new variants and price points, along with the launch of an updated Kushaq. Further actions are expected for the Kodiaq and Slavia, alongside the introduction of a Kylaq Sportline variant later in the year.

A new batch of the Octavia RS is also expected to be introduced in limited numbers.

Expansion of Sales Network

Skoda is also focusing on widening its retail presence. The brand currently operates in 183 cities and plans to expand to 200 cities by the end of 2026.

New dealerships added in recent months are to contribute to volumes as they reach full operational capacity. The company is planning to improve access in smaller markets as part of this expansion.

Industry Growth Trends

Passenger vehicle retail sales in India stood at 44,75,309 units in 2025, compared to 40,79,532 units in 2024, showing a growth of 9.7%, according to FADA data.

For 2026, overall market growth is estimated at around 4-5%, indicating a slower pace after a high base.

Demand Conditions and External Risks

The company noted that customer enquiries and bookings remain steady. However, some caution has been observed in final purchase decisions amid ongoing geopolitical tensions in West Asia.

Extended uncertainty could affect demand sentiment and lead to pressure on supply chains and input costs, including fuel and commodities.

Conclusion

Skoda’s plan for 2026 is centred on incremental growth supported by product updates and network expansion, with expectations aligned to broader market conditions.
