On Oct 15, 2025, benchmark indices closed firmly in the green. The BSE Sensex surged 575.45 points, or 0.70%, to close at 82,605.43, while the Nifty 50 gained 178.05 points, or 0.71%, to end at 25,323.55.
Ahead of the Sensex weekly expiry on Thursday, Oct 16, 2025, the National Stock Exchange (NSE) has placed Sammaan Capital Ltd under the F&O trading ban.
The ban was imposed as the security crossed 95% of the market-wide position limit (MWPL). While F&O trading in the stock is restricted during the ban period, it remains available for trading in the cash market.
On Oct 15, 2025, shares of Sammaan Capital opened at ₹165.20 and closed marginally higher by 0.03% at ₹164.90 after hitting an intraday high of ₹166.80 and a low of ₹163.60 on the BSE.
With a full market capitalisation of ₹13,659.71 crore and a free float market cap of ₹12,681.08 crore, Sammaan Capital remains a key player in the housing finance sector.
It is classified under the “Listed, Group A” category with a T+1 settlement cycle, and operates in the Housing Finance Company segment.
Sensex options contracts expire every Thursday. If Thursday is a trading holiday, the expiry shifts to the previous trading session.
Settlement occurs at the normal market closing time unless the exchange specifies otherwise. Similarly, if the last Thursday of an expiry cycle is a holiday, all securities within that series will expire on the prior trading day.

The F&O ban on Sammaan Capital ahead of the Oct 16 weekly expiry indicates elevated derivatives activity. With expiry-related volatility expected to continue, traders should exercise caution and closely monitor stock-specific movements in the derivatives segment.
