NTPC Green Energy Limited, the renewable subsidiary of state-run NTPC, has added fresh capacity to India’s green energy mix. According to regulatory filings dated August 20–21, 2025, the company declared the commercial operation (COD) of 2 projects.
NTPC has further expanded its renewable energy portfolio with the declaration of commercial operations for two projects in Gujarat. The company commissioned 212.5 MW of solar power as part of the ongoing 1,255 MW Khavda-I Solar PV Project, developed under the CPSU scheme by NTPC Renewable Energy Limited.
In addition, 52.8 MW of wind capacity from a 100 MW hybrid project (92.4 MW wind + 37.5 MW solar), developed by Ayana Renewable Power Four Private Limited, a group company under ONGC NTPC Green Private Limited, also achieved COD.
With these additions, the NTPC Group’s total installed and commercial capacity has now reached 83,242 MW, further consolidating its leadership as India’s largest power producer while strengthening its renewable energy footprint.
NTPC Limited’s shares were trading slightly lower at ₹340.45, down 0.45% (-₹1.55) at 10:40 Am on the NSE from the previous close of ₹342.00. The stock opened at ₹342.35 and touched an intraday high of ₹344.35, while the day’s low stood at ₹340.25. The Volume Weighted Average Price (VWAP) was recorded at ₹341.49, reflecting muted movement in the counter during morning trade.
