NSE Indices Limited has introduced a new hybrid index combining equity and government securities exposure. The launch was announced in Mumbai on February 10, 2026, expanding the range of benchmark indices under the Nifty brand.

Nifty LargeMidcap250 Plus 8 to 13 Yr G Sec 70:30 Index Structure

The Nifty LargeMidcap250 Plus 8 to 13 Yr G Sec 70:30 Index is designed to measure the performance of a hybrid portfolio with 70% exposure to the Nifty LargeMidcap 250 Index and 30% exposure to the Nifty 8 to 13 Yr G Sec Index.

The index has a base date of January 3, 2011, and a base value of 1,000. The weights are rebalanced monthly on the last working day of each month to maintain the defined allocation.

Purpose and Benchmark Use

The newly launched index is intended to serve as a benchmark for asset managers. It may also act as a reference index for passive investment products such as Exchange Traded Funds, index funds and structured products.

The hybrid structure combines equity exposure from large and midcap companies with fixed income exposure through Government of India securities.
