On October 3, 2025, Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) was below its final issue price of ₹949. LIC share price touched an all-time high of ₹1,222 on NSE in August last year. Thereafter, the stock witnessed a correction, and lately, it is back in the news after the GST 2.0 reforms.
The GST 2.0 reforms have brought renewed attention to insurance companies, with expectations of policy and tax framework adjustments that may influence sectoral growth. The insurer’s Annualised Premium Equivalent (APE) rose to ₹12,652 crore, an increase of nearly 10% YoY, while VNB jumped to ₹1,944 crore. Notably, the VNB margin expanded to 15.4%, reflecting a stronger product mix with rising non-par business share.

In terms of recent performance, LIC gained 3.39% over the past week and 2.72% over the past month, while it witnessed a decline of 3.39% over the past 3 months. The stock is now once again hovering close to its IPO range.
