Dhanteras, a festival synonymous with prosperity and new beginnings, sees many households buying gold, silver, and utensils to mark the occasion. This year, quick-commerce services are making the festival shopping even more convenient.
For Dhanteras 2025, Swiggy Instamart will deliver gold and silver products directly to customers in select metro cities, ensuring celebrations can be planned without stepping out.
Customers can now order gold in weights ranging from 0.1 g to 10 g, alongside silver coins and, for the first time, a 1 kg silver brick. In addition to precious metals, an expanded range of utensils is available, including cookware, pressure cookers, kadais, tawas, and thalis. These offerings allow households to upgrade their kitchen essentials or purchase traditional items associated with Dhanteras.
Instamart has partnered with established brands such as Kalyan Jewellers, Malabar Gold & Diamonds, Muthoot Exim, MMTC-PAMP, Mia by Tanishq, and Voylla. It also collaborates with newer brands, including Gullak, to ensure a wide variety of certified gold and silver coins are available for purchase.
To encourage early festive shopping, Instamart is launching a special early bird offer. The first 10,000 customers buying gold coins of 1 gram or more on Dhanteras will receive a ₹100 discount. This offer will be live from 7:00 am on October 18, making it ideal for those who want to secure their purchase early in the day.
All gold coins available on Instamart carry the 999 hallmark and have no making charges. Silver coins are certified for purity, providing customers with confidence in the authenticity of their purchases. This ensures that the precious metals delivered are genuine and meet standard quality requirements.
In recent years, the demand for gold and silver on Instamart has grown steadily, particularly during festivals such as Dhanteras and Akshaya Tritiya. Cities like Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Delhi NCR, and Ahmedabad have emerged as top consumers.
The 1 gm gold coin remains the most popular item. A record purchase last Diwali saw a single customer in Kochi ordering gold worth ₹8.3 lakh, reflecting the readiness of consumers to use quick-commerce platforms for more than just groceries and daily essentials.
As of 4:01 p.m. on October 16, Swiggy share price stood at ₹449 on the NSE, marking a 1.54% increase for the day. The company has a market capitalisation of ₹1,12,090 crore, trading within a 52-week high of ₹617 and a low of ₹297.
Current financial metrics show a book value of ₹44.7 per share, with no dividend yield. The company reports a Return on Capital Employed (ROCE) of -29.2% and a Return on Equity (ROE) of -255%.
