Bharti Airtel could be poised for a sizeable share transaction, with one of its promoter entities reportedly considering a partial stake sale through a block deal, as per news reports.
The possibility arises as the telecom operator continues to record stable financial indicators and maintains a measured investment approach.
Market observers are assessing how such a move, if executed, might shape future ownership patterns and financial prospects.
News Reports suggest that Indian Continent Investment Ltd (ICIL), a promoter of Bharti Airtel, may explore selling around 3.43 crore shares via a block trade.
If carried out, the transaction would represent roughly 0.56% of the company’s equity, valued at about ₹7,200 crore at the indicative offer price. The floor price discussed reflects a modest discount relative to Airtel’s previous trading level on the NSE.
Should the sale proceed, ICIL’s holding could fall below 1%, compared with an estimated 1.48% stake held as of September 2025.
Any remaining shares may be subject to a lock-up period. Goldman Sachs (India) Securities is understood to be the potential placement agent for the proposal.
Airtel recently reported quarterly results showing a steady rise in consolidated EBITDA, driven by continued progress in both the India wireless segment and operations in Africa. ARPU, a key financial indicator, came in above market expectations, and free cash flow remained firm.
The company has also signalled that its Indian capital expenditure for FY26, excluding Indus Towers, might ease further, which could support ongoing cash generation.
Bharti Airtel’s share price ended the previous trading session on a steady note, closing at ₹1,624.20. The stock opened higher at ₹1,639.00, matching its intraday high, but later moved within a broader range to touch a low of ₹1,607.60 before settling slightly above the prior close of ₹1,623.75.

While the reported block deal remains a possibility rather than a finalised action, it reflects ongoing recalibration among major Airtel shareholders. Investors are likely to continue monitoring the situation as further clarity emerges.
