According to a study by Oxford Economics, the Indian beer industry alone contributed ₹92,324 crore (USD 10.6 billion) to the economy in 2023, accounting for 0.3% of national GDP.
The sector also generated ₹51,376 crore (USD 5.9 billion) in tax revenues, which made up 1.8% of total government tax receipts, these figures underscore the significant economic and fiscal role of alcoholic beverage companies in India.
