Two companies from the pharmaceutical and steel sectors are preparing to enter the public markets after securing regulatory clearance for their initial public offerings.
Hindustan Laboratories and RK Steel Manufacturing Company received observations from Securities and Exchange Board of India on April 27, which effectively allows them to proceed with their IPO plans.
Hindustan Laboratories’ offering consists of a combination of fresh issuance and promoter divestment. The company plans to issue 50 lakh new shares, alongside an offer for sale of 91 lakh shares by its promoter.
In contrast, RK Steel Manufacturing’s public issue will be entirely fresh, comprising up to 2 crore equity shares, with no offer for sale component included.
Hindustan Laboratories intends to deploy the funds raised towards working capital needs and general corporate purposes.
The company operates in the pharmaceutical space, focusing on the production and supply of generic medicines, primarily catering to government institutions under a business-to-government model.
RK Steel Manufacturing plans to use its IPO proceeds for repayment or prepayment of certain borrowings, in addition to supporting working capital requirements and general corporate needs. The company is engaged in the production of steel tubes and pipes.
