Department of Posts has entered into a strategic partnership with DTDC Express Limited to strengthen parcel delivery capabilities and support the growing demands of India’s e-commerce ecosystem.
The agreement, formalised in New Delhi, was signed by Neeraj Kumar Jha and Abhishek Chakraborty in the presence of senior officials from both sides.
This arrangement builds on an ongoing collaboration that began in 2025 and aims to deepen operational integration.
The partnership enables DTDC to utilise the postal department’s nationwide infrastructure for parcel distribution, including services such as cash on delivery.
It also lays the groundwork for closer coordination in logistics execution, capacity utilisation and operational planning.
Both organisations will work together across multiple areas, including shared logistics operations, alignment of marketing strategies and exchange of industry practices to enhance service standards.
A structured review mechanism has been put in place, with quarterly meetings planned to track progress, ensure system integration and identify additional growth opportunities.
By combining network reach with logistics expertise, the collaboration is designed to improve delivery timelines and operational efficiency across regions.
For DTDC, access to over 1.64 lakh post offices significantly expands its reach, particularly in remote and underserved areas.
This is expected to support faster deliveries and help meet rising demand from e-commerce businesses.
For the Department of Posts, the partnership is expected to strengthen its parcel segment by improving transmission speed and expanding service capabilities.
The collaboration also aligns with broader efforts to enhance India’s logistics infrastructure and support its ambition of becoming a global logistics hub.
