Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Limited has recently sold 2.18 crore equity shares (exactly 2,17,59,948) of the Indian Energy Exchange (IEX), which accounts for 2.44% of the total shares in the company. These sales were done through open market transactions between June 3 and June 10, 2025.
Before the sale, Dalmia Cement held 11.81 crore shares (11,81,26,656) in IEX. After this transaction, their holding has dropped to 9.63 crore shares (9,63,66,708), bringing their total stake down to 10.81%.
The sale was disclosed to the stock exchanges on June 11, 2025, in line with SEBI's Substantial Acquisition of Shares and Takeovers Regulations, 2011. Dalmia Cement also identified DPVL Ventures LLP and Dalmia Power Limited as Persons Acting in Concert (PACs) in the transaction.
Dalmia Cement is a major part of the Dalmia Bharat Group and is known for its cement production. It also has interests in other sectors like sugar, refractories, and power.
As of June 12, 2025, Dalmia Bharat share price is trading at ₹2,100.00 per share, with a quarterly dividend amount of ₹2.26.
IEX (Indian Energy Exchange) is India’s leading energy trading platform, offering a national-level marketplace for trading electricity, renewable energy certificates (RECs), and energy-saving certificates (ESCerts).
As of June 12, 2025, Indian Energy Exchange share price is trading at ₹190.50 per share, with a quarterly dividend amount of ₹0.75.

By selling a portion of its holding in IEX, Dalmia Cement has booked profits while still retaining a significant 10.81% stake. This move highlights the company's strategic approach to managing investments across sectors.
