Gold prices extended their rally on Thursday, rising over 1% in global markets and hovering near one-week highs, as investors moved towards safe-haven assets amid fresh geopolitical and economic uncertainty. Spot gold climbed 1.1% to $5,016.89 per ounce, according to a Reuters report, after having touched a record peak of $5,594.82 last week. 

U.S. gold futures for April delivery also gained sharply, advancing 1.8% to $5,036.80 per ounce, supported by renewed risk-off sentiment. Meanwhile, silver mirrored the momentum, jumping 2.1% to $89.88 per ounce, after hitting an all-time high of $121.64 last week.
