As of 10:00 AM IST on Tuesday, gold prices showed a mild decline across southern cities, with rates in Thiruvananthapuram at ₹154,410 per 10 grams, down ₹1,010 or 0.65%, while silver traded at ₹238,550 per kg, lower by ₹3,000 or 1.24%.
Similarly, in Chennai, gold stood at ₹154,390 per 10 grams and silver at ₹238,520 per kg, both reflecting the same percentage decline.
Meanwhile, Hyderabad recorded gold prices at ₹154,180 per 10 grams and silver at ₹238,210 per kg, also showing comparable declines.
Silver futures for the March 5, 2026, expiry traded lower, opening at ₹235,207 per kg and moving between a low of ₹235,142 and a high of ₹237,720 during the session, with the last traded price at ₹237,079, reflecting a decline of ₹2,812 or 1.17% from the previous close of ₹239,891.
Meanwhile, gold futures for the April 2, 2026, expiry opened at ₹153,551 per 10 grams, touched a low of ₹153,522 and a high of ₹153,959, and were last traded at ₹153,800, down ₹960 or 0.62% compared to the previous close of ₹154,760.
Precious metal prices remained under pressure across spot and futures markets, reflecting cautious sentiment and subdued buying interest. Investors and buyers may continue to track global cues and currency movements, as these factors could influence near-term price trends.
