On May 19, 2025, Nifty Bank surged by 237.40 points, gaining 0.43% to reach 55,592.30 at 11:14 AM. This index close to its 52-week high of 56,098.70, a significant mark considering the 52-week low is 46,077.85.
The index opened at 55,326.05, much higher than the previous close of 55,354.90. It touched an intraday low of 55,296.55 and a high of 55,650.25.
However, IDFC First Bank was a drag on the index, losing 0.26%, trading at ₹69.
Bank Nifty continued its upward momentum on May 19, 2025, nearing its 52-week high. Gains in PSU banks like PNB, Federal Bank, and SBI boosted the rally. Despite minor pressure from IDFC First Bank, overall sentiment remained strong.
