Bharti Airtel has teamed up with AI-based search platform Perplexity, offering a complimentary 1-year subscription of Perplexity Pro to all its mobile, broadband, and DTH subscribers in India, a service otherwise priced at ₹17,000 annually.
The collaboration allows Airtel’s user base of over 390 million to access Perplexity Pro, a premium version of the AI-driven search tool known for delivering real-time, accurate, and conversational responses. Available exclusively via the Airtel Thanks app, the offer targets a broad user segment, from students and professionals to households, enabling enhanced digital literacy and productivity.
This marks Perplexity’s first-ever tie-up with an Indian telecom company and demonstrates Airtel's strategic focus on AI innovation. The Pro subscription gives users access to premium features such as GPT-4.1, Claude, image generation, file upload and analysis capabilities, and deeper research tools, which are all designed to elevate online search experiences beyond basic results.

The Airtel partnership follows Perplexity’s alignment with Motorola in April 2025, where Perplexity came pre-installed on the latest Motorola smartphones, including Razr and Edge 60, offering 3 months free Pro access to users. The AI firm is also reportedly in active talks with Samsung to embed its tools within Samsung devices and the Bixby assistant, to increase global adoption further.
Airtel subscribers can activate the Perplexity Pro subscription through the Airtel Thanks app. Whether you're searching for information, generating content, or analysing files, this AI assistant is now available at no additional cost as part of Airtel’s drive to deliver enhanced digital services to its customer base.
