The Indian frontline indices kicked off the trading session with notable gains, primarily driven by strong performances in the metals, oil & gas, energy, and capital goods sectors. However, BSE Healthcare and BSE Realty were the sole indices to register losses for the day.The broader indices followed suit, mirroring the gains seen in the main indices.

At 10:05 am, the BSE Sensex climbed 0.84%, reaching a level of 73,110. The Nifty 50 index soared 0.88% to the 22,177 level. On the Sensex, JSW Steel, Tata Steel and Larsen & Toubro were among the top gainers, whereas Infosys, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries and HCL Technologies were among the market draggers.

Some of the noteworthy volume movers are as follows:

  1. Pokarna Ltd

    Pokarna Ltd experienced a remarkable 20-fold rise in trading volume, accompanied by a modest gain that propelled its shares to reach an intraday high of Rs 505.20 per share on the BSE. The company initiated its Granite business in 1991, and its products have since gained renown for their exceptional quality, unique designs, and diverse variations.

  2. Suven Pharmaceuticals Ltd

    The trading volume of Suven Pharmaceuticals Ltd saw a remarkable 16-fold increase, propelling the stock to surge over 12% and reach an intraday high of Rs 712 per share on the BSE. The company operates in the Contract Development & Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) sector, serving the requirements of the global pharmaceutical industry.

  3. CG Power & Industrial Solutions Ltd

    CG Power & Industrial Solutions Ltd witnessed a significant surge in trading volume, reaching around 5 times its usual level, as its shares climbed to touch an intraday high of Rs 494.40 per share on the BSE, approaching its 52-week high of Rs 501.75. The company is a global entity offering comprehensive solutions to utilities, industries, and consumers for the effective and sustainable management and application of electrical energy.
