Top gainers and losers on the BSE Sensex index are as follows

On Thursday, the benchmark indices were trading lower with the Sensex down around 47 points or 0.08% at 69,607 while the Nifty-50 down around 6 points or 0.03% at 20,934. About 2,119 shares have advanced, 1,355 declined, and 163 are unchanged on the BSE.

The top Sensex gainers were Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd and Bajaj FinServ Ltd whereas the top Sensex losers were Sun Pharmaceuticals Ltd, Hindustan Unilever Ltd and Bharati Airtel Ltd

The indices in the broader markets were trading higher, with the BSE Mid-cap index up 0.45% and the BSE Small-cap index up 0.46%, respectively. The top mid-cap gainers were Vodafone Idea Ltd and India Overseas Bank while the top small-cap gainers were MMTC Ltd and Patel Engineering Ltd.

The BSE Utilities Index was the top gaining among the sectorial indices and the BSE FMCG Index was the top losing sector. The BSE Utilities Index soared 2.21% led by Tata Power Ltd and Adani Green Energy Ltd while the BSE FMCG Index was down 0.47% dragged down by Dalmia Sugar Ltd and Uttam Sugar Mills Ltd.
