On Wednesday, the benchmark indices were trading flat with the Sensex down around 29 points or 0.04% at 65,751 and the Nifty-50 down around 3 points or 0.01% at 19,572. About 2,090 shares have advanced, 1,267 declined, and 177 are unchanged on the BSE.
The top Sensex gainers were Sun Pharmaceuticals Ltd, Bharti Airtel Ltd and UltraTech Cement Ltd whereas the top Sensex losers were Infosys Ltd, NTPC Ltd and Tata Steel Ltd.
The BSE Healthcare Index was the top gaining among the sectorial indices and the BSE Consumer Durables Index was the top losing sector. The BSE Healthcare Index soared 0.90%, led by Dishman Carbogen Amcis Ltd and Artemis Medicare Services Ltd while the BSE Consumer Durables Index was down 1% dragged down by Dixon Technologies Ltd and Aditya Birla Fashion & Retail Ltd.
The indices in the broader markets were trading higher, with the BSE Mid-cap index up 0.29% and the BSE Small-cap index up 0.44%, respectively. The top mid-cap gainers were Castrol India Ltd and Gillette India Ltd while the top small-cap gainers were Automotive Stampings & Assemblies Ltd and Artemis Medicare Services Ltd.
