The top Sensex gainers were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, NTPC Ltd and Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd whereas the top Sensex losers were Infosys Ltd, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd and HCL Technologies Ltd.
The indices in the broader markets were trading higher, with the BSE Mid-cap index up 0.79% and the BSE Small-cap index up 0.37%, respectively. The top mid-cap gainers were Oil India Ltd and Castrol India Ltd while the top small-cap gainers were Gallantt Ispat Ltd and Syncom Formulations (India) Ltd
The BSE Utilities Index was the top gaining among the sectorial indices and the BSE Information Technology Index was the top losing sector. The BSE Utilities Index soared 1.5% led by SJVN Ltd and NLC India Ltd while the BSE IT Index was down 0.61% dragged down by Cyient Ltd and 63 Moons Technologies Ltd.
