Ola Electric Mobility Limited saw a notable rise in its share price after confirming that its promoter had completed a one-time monetisation of a small part of his personal shareholding.
The move was undertaken to repay a promoter-level loan and release pledged shares. The company clarified that the transaction does not affect its operations, control structure, or long-term strategy.
Ola Electric confirmed that the promoter carried out a planned and time-bound sale of a portion of his personal shareholding.
The proceeds were used exclusively to fully repay a loan of around ₹260 crore at the promoter level. As part of this process, all shares amounting to 3.93% that were earlier pledged have now been released.
Following the transaction, the promoter group continues to hold a 34.6% stake in Ola Electric. The company emphasised that there has been no dilution of promoter control and no change in its long-term commitment to the business. The exercise was executed entirely at the personal level of the promoter.
Ola Electric stated that the monetisation has no bearing on the company’s financial performance, day-to-day operations, or strategic direction.
The firm reiterated its focus on building an India-first electric mobility and clean energy business with global competitiveness.
On 19 December 2025, Ola Electric shares recorded a gain of around 7.5% in morning trade. The stock was trading at approximately ₹33.47, compared with a previous close of ₹31.26. During the session, the shares moved between a low of ₹32.01 and a high of ₹33.65.
