ICICI Bank Credit Card Rule Changes Effective February 1, 2026: Will You Still Get a Complimentary BookMyShow Movie Ticket?

From February 1, 2026, ICICI Bank will apply a set of revisions to its credit card benefit structure, affecting movie, transport and insurance rewards as well as certain transaction fees. 

Key Changes to Credit Card Benefits 

The complimentary movie benefit via BookMyShow will be withdrawn for the Instant Platinum Chip Credit Card and the Instant Platinum Credit Card. All other cards will retain existing benefits unless otherwise noted. 

Transport Reward Points Structure 

Cards in the Rubyx, Secured Rubyx, LeadtheNew Rubyx, Sapphiro, LeadtheNew Sapphiro, Emeralde and Emeralde Private families will earn points on transport spends up to ₹20,000 each month.  

Platinum, Platinum Chip, Instant Platinum Chip, Instant Platinum, HPCL Platinum Chip, HPCL Coral Platinum, HPCL Coral Contactless, HPCL Super Saver, Coral, NRI Coral, Secured Coral, Lead the New Coral, Coral Pilot Contactless, Manchester United Platinum Contactless, Manchester United Signature, Chennai Super Kings, Credit Card, Expressions, Secured Expressions, Parakram and Parakram Select families will earn points on transport merchant category codes up to ₹10,000 each month, with points varying by merchant type.

Insurance Reward Points Structure 

The HPCL Super Saver Credit Card will continue to earn points on insurance spends up to ₹40,000 at the current earn rate. No change is announced for other card variants. 

Additional Transaction Fees 

A 2% fee will apply to payments made on online gaming platforms such as Dream11, Rummy Culture, Junglee Games and MPL.  

Loading funds onto third party wallets including Amazon Pay, Paytm, MobiKwik, Freecharge and OlaMoney will attract a 1% fee for transaction amounts of ₹5,000 or more. A 1% charge will be levied on transport category transactions that exceed ₹50,000. 

Conclusion 

Effective February 1, 2026, ICICI Bank will discontinue the BookMyShow movie benefit for selected cards, adjust transport reward caps, maintain insurance reward limits for the HPCL Super Saver card and introduce fees on online gaming, third party wallet loads and high value transport transactions.
