
HDFC Life Insurance Company Limited has announced its standalone and consolidated results for the nine months ended December 31, 2025. The company reported strong momentum in the protection segment, steady growth in new business and stable profitability, reflecting the resilience of its business model.
Individual Annualised Premium Equivalent grew 11% year-on-year during 9MFY26, translating into a two-year CAGR of 17%. The company also gained 20 basis points of market share, taking its overall industry share to 10.9%.
Value of New Business stood at ₹2,773 crore, up 7% year-on-year with a two-year CAGR of 11%, while new business margins remained broadly stable at 24.4%.
Retail protection continued to be the key growth driver with a robust 70% rise in Q3FY26 and 42% growth for the nine-month period. Retail sum assured increased 55% in Q3 and 33% in 9MFY26, supported by higher rider attachment and improved sum assured multiples in the ULIP business.
Assets under management, including HDFC Pension Fund Management, reached ₹5.3 trillion. Persistency ratios remained stable with 13-month persistency at 85% and 61-month at 63%, while renewal collections grew 15% year-on-year. Embedded Value stood at ₹61,565 crore with an operating return on EV of 15.6% on a rolling 12-month basis.
Profit after tax for 9MFY26 grew 7% to ₹1,414 crore. Excluding one-time impact from labour code and GST changes, underlying PAT growth stood at 15% for both the quarter and nine months. The solvency ratio remained comfortable at 180%, supported by ₹749 crore of subordinated debt raised during Q3.
On January 16, 2026, HDFC Life share price (NSE: HDFCLIFE) opened at ₹740.10, down from its previous close of ₹743.20. At 9:55 AM, the share price of HDFC Life was trading at ₹729.85, down by 1.80% on the NSE.
