
Shares of Cupid Ltd. and Tourism Finance Corporation of India Ltd. (TFCI) moved in opposite directions on Monday, 5 January 2026, after both stocks had hit a 20% lower circuit in the previous session.
While Cupid remained under pressure amid ongoing volatility, Tourism Finance shares rebounded, supported by buying interest and recent corporate announcements.
Cupid Ltd. and Tourism Finance Corporation of India witnessed contrasting trading trends on Monday.
Investors holding Cupid shares in their demat account witnessed sharp drop in early trade, declining as much as 19%, before trading lower by around 13% during the session.
In contrast, Tourism Finance shares recovered from recent losses and were trading nearly 10% higher.
In a separate exchange filing, Tourism Finance stated that it plans to act as a co-sponsor and anchor investor in the Holystone Hospitality Fund, a Category II equity-focused alternative investment fund (AIF), for up to 5% of the fund’s corpus. The company has filed an application with SEBI to register the fund.
Additionally, TFCI disclosed its intention to act as an anchor investor in the Certus Real Estate Fund, a Category II AIF, with a commitment of up to 10% of the fund size, for which a registration application has also been submitted to the regulator.
Over the weekend, Cupid Ltd. informed exchanges that it was not aware of any material events or developments that could explain the sharp volatility in its share price.
The company also stated that it had observed the circulation of unverified rumours, which it believes may be intended to create panic and affect the reputation of the company and its promoters, as per the CNBC TV18 news report.
Cupid added that it is reviewing the matter and will take appropriate action if required.
As of 05 January 2026 at 09:48 AM, Cupid Ltd. shares were trading at ₹344.40, down ₹75.55 or 17.99% from the previous close of ₹419.95. The stock opened at ₹341.00, touched a high of ₹367.70, and a low of ₹337.10 during the session.
