Bank of India announced its unaudited (reviewed) financial results for the first quarter ended June 30, 2025, showcasing growth across business segments, profitability, and asset quality.

Business Growth

The bank’s global advances rose 12.02% year-on-year (YoY), with domestic advances increasing 11.24% YoY. Overseas advances grew 16.34% YoY, while retail advances jumped 20% YoY, followed by MSME (17% YoY) and agriculture (12% YoY) advances.

Bank of India’s global business surpassed ₹15 lakh crore during the quarter. Deposits also showed healthy growth, rising 9.07% YoY, with domestic deposits up 9.62% YoY. CASA deposits increased by 2.50% YoY, with a CASA ratio of 39.88% as of June 30, 2025.

Profitability Highlights

Operating profit for Q1 FY26 grew 9% YoY to ₹4,009 crore, while net profit surged 32% YoY to ₹2,252 crore. The bank’s Return on Assets (ROA) and Return on Equity (ROE) stood at 0.82% and 13.55%, respectively.

Global Net Interest Margin (NIM) was 2.55%, while domestic NIM stood at 2.20%. The yield on global advances was 8.01%, with the cost of global deposits at 4.85% during the quarter.

Asset Quality Improvement

The bank recorded an improvement in asset quality, with the gross NPA ratio reducing by 170 basis points YoY to 2.92%. Net NPA declined by 24 bps YoY to 0.75%. Provision Coverage Ratio (PCR) improved by 83 bps YoY to 92.94%. The slippage ratio dropped to 0.33%, while credit cost improved by 17 bps YoY to 0.68%.

Capital Adequacy and Digital Growth

The Capital Adequacy Ratio (CRAR) stood strong at 17.39% as of June 30, 2025. The bank continued to expand its digital footprint, onboarding over 1 crore customers through its “BOI Mobile Omni Neo Bank” app. Digital transactions accounted for 95.4% of total transactions in Q1 FY26, up from 94.2% a year earlier.

On July 30, 2025, Bank of India share price (NSE: BANKINDIA) opened at ₹112.90, almost the same as its previous close of ₹112.17. At 9:30 AM, the share price of Bank of India was trading at ₹115.80, up by 3.24% on the NSE.
